Howard James
I was so pleased and honoured being asked to be part of the team at this radio station.... it was like coming home for me as I had lived and worked in the Exmouth and Budleigh area for around twenty years and know the area well (and many of it's people too!).
I still have a great fondness for the area and pay regular visits even though I reside on the Devon/Cornwall border.
I started my radio career as a volunteer at Hospital Radio in Exeter and then moved on to BBC Radio Devon in Exeter and Plymouth presenting programmes at either end of the day over a period of around twenty years.
I also worked in commercial radio at Orchard FM in Taunton (along with Jeremy Kyle)...,. yes him! ,and also Lantern FM in Bideford.
Having done every aspect of broadcasting, it was so good to be part of what i call "grass roots radio."
My belief is that local radio should be there to give a voice to the community and I wanted to focus on that and things that were happening around the area.
The program that I present every Sunday evening (6 till 8,) features local guests chatting about local things, both serious and not so serious, plus a sprinkling of music features and hopefully some cheery banter.
The magic date for me was Sunday 11th October 2015, which is when I first took to the Exmouth airwaves with my very first guest being......have a guess!
