With warm weather forecast and thousands expected to visit the coast this Bank Holiday weekend, the lifesaving charity is reminding everyone to stay safe by visiting lifeguarded beaches and following advice.

Volunteers living in Devon and Cornwall are being sought to a carry out a crucial role to ensure people detained in custody are being treated fairly and humanely, regardless of why they are there. 

The Leader of Devon County Council, Councillor Julian Brazil, says that the council will continue to call for a ‘fundamental reform’ of the funding system that decides how much funding councils get from central government.

Devon and Cornwall Police have said around 50% more people have been caught not wearing seat belts as those fined for driving while using mobile phone.
