Countryside Team Programme Achieves 100% Customer Satisfaction

East Devon District Council Countryside team’s Wild East Devon events programme has achieved an outstanding 100% customer satisfaction rating, as revealed by a recent customer feedback survey.

East Devon District Council Countryside team’s Wild East Devon events programme has achieved an outstanding 100% customer satisfaction rating, as revealed by a recent customer feedback survey. Every 2024 participant who booked onto an event was asked to share their experiences and thoughts on the events they attended throughout the year and help shape the programme for 2025.

During 2024, the Countryside team hosted a wide range of public engagement activities, including bird and bat box making, guided wildlife walks, and partnerships with local organisations on events including canoe safaris and willow sculpting and pottery workshops. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with respondents rating the events as “very engaging” as well as stating they would be “very likely” to attend a Wild East Devon hosted event again in the future.

One respondent shared their enthusiasm, commenting: “I loved the whole experience and would love to come back next year. I will be looking for similar events to book onto. Thank you!”

Councillor Geoff Jung, Portfolio Holder for Coast, Country, and Environment, praised the team’s efforts, saying:

“The Countryside team deliver an exciting programme that inspire residents and visitors of all ages to spend time in the great outdoors. Whether it’s a chance to learn a new skill, get active outdoors, or learn about and experience our local wildlife, the Wild East Devon events programme offers something for everyone.”

Looking ahead to 2025, the Countryside team is planning another exciting programme, featuring family favourites such as Fun in the Stream and year-round Seasonal Crafts and Trails alongside other activities including spoon carving, willow weaving, and guided bat and nightjar walks.

Upcoming events include:

Bird Box Making, Saturday 15 February

Willow Easter wreath workshop, Saturday 5 April

Spoon carving workshop, Saturday 12 April

Bat walk at Seaton Wetlands Friday 9 May

James Chubb, Countryside Team Manager, commented:

“I am extremely proud that the Countryside team achieved 100% satisfaction for our 2024 events. The team works hard to provide an engaging programme of high-quality events all year round, and the feedback received is a testament to their sterling efforts. We’re looking forward to delivering another year of our favourites, alongside some new and exciting partnerships.”
