Police officers have been out across the city, with a particular focus on Sidwell Street, carrying out proactive patrols and enforcement activity.
During the operation, they seized three illegal e-bikes. These bikes did not meet legal requirements for use on public roads, including exceeding permitted power and speed limits and being capable of throttle-only operation without pedalling. Illegal e-bikes pose a serious risk to pedestrians and other road users, and action is being taken to remove them from our streets.
In addition, one male was arrested for immigration offences and has been dealt with accordingly.
The operation was carried out by a mix of uniformed and plain-clothes officers, ensuring both high-visibility reassurance and effective enforcement.
The Police will continue to patrol key areas of the city and take action where offences are identified to help keep our streets safe for everyone
