Exmouth Community College looks to join Ted Wragg Trust

Exmouth Community College has taken a significant step forward by announcing its intention to join the Ted Wragg Trust. This move marks a pivotal moment for the college, signalling a strategic decision to align itself with a trusted educational institution.

The Board of Trustees at Exmouth Community College has taken a significant step forward by agreeing to submit an initial application to join the Ted Wragg Multi-Academy Trust. In a letter dated April 26, parents and carers of students were informed of this decision by the College's head, Tom Inman.

This move is subject to initial approval by a Regional Advisory Board of the Department for Education and will involve a comprehensive consultation period with the community.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the prospect, Headteacher Tom Inman remarked, "We have been diligently considering the possibility of Exmouth Community College joining a Multi-Academy Trust for several months. This marks a crucial milestone in our journey, particularly following the endorsement from our recently published OFSTED report. The upcoming community consultations will provide parents, students, and staff with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the trust, its values, and the significant benefits that collaboration will offer our young people and the wider community. We eagerly anticipate partnering with the Ted Wragg Trust and the invaluable support they can provide to further enhance our efforts in providing the best Secondary School experience for future generations."

Chair of Governors, Jason Hill, echoed this sentiment, stating, "Our Governing board has meticulously evaluated this decision and firmly believes that joining the Ted Wragg Trust is the optimal next step in advancing the College’s ongoing progress. Our next objective is to expand this engagement to ensure a comprehensive consultation with our local community, including staff, parents, and students."

A spokesperson for the Ted Wragg Trust expressed delight at the prospect of Exmouth Community College joining their network, stating, "Exmouth Community College is a fantastic school situated within a vibrant community, and we are thrilled by their decision to seek membership in our family of schools. We have developed a strong relationship with the school and eagerly anticipate engaging with even more staff, students, and families during the planned community consultation sessions. As we progress to the next stage overseen by the Department for Education, we are committed to supporting the school throughout the final approval stages of the process."
