Following a talk given by Exmouth RNLI last year to Exmouth Art Group, members of the group spent a month producing a collection of art to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the RNLI. The artists presented these to RNLI Exmouth.
The twenty-four paintings have already raised funds at two exhibitions and are now to be auctioned. As all of these were generously donated by the artists, 100% of funds raised will support the RNLI to continue saving lives at sea.
Exmouth lifeboat station is soon to welcome thousands of visitors coming to view our Shannon class all-weather lifeboat which will be bearing 15,040 names submitted through the Launch A Memory scheme. This lifeboat, the R and J Welburn, is featured in many of the paintings.
The silent auction will run from 1st July 2025 until 30th September 2025. All twenty-four artworks can be viewed online at https://www.exmouthlifeboat.org.uk/auction or on the RNLI Exmouth Fundraising and Shop Facebook page. Each month, eight paintings will be displayed in the RNLI Shop at Exmouth lifeboat station.

Lydia Kettle, President of Exmouth Art Group said, ‘We are fortunate indeed to live by the sea and, of course, are conscious of the invaluable and unwavering service that the RNLI provides. We are delighted to be able to offer our support on this occasion and look forward to learning how the auction goes in the hope that a sizeable sum will be raised to assist the continuing work of Exmouth RNLI lifeboat.”
The volunteers of RNLI Exmouth would like to take this opportunity to thank Exmouth Art Group for their overwhelming support. It is only with the generosity of supporters that we can continue with our mission to save lives at sea.
