The Council are seeing a rise in evening bonfires on the beach. While they know people want to enjoy the warmer evenings, they need the beaches to be safe for everyone to visit.
Bonfires using wooden pallets are leaving nails scattered across the beach – a serious hazard to families, pets, and anyone walking barefoot.
Hot sand or stones from beach fires can cause burns.
So please:
Do not light fires on the beach
Take your litter home
Be respectful of others using public spaces
Report any dangerous activity via the Councils website
Let’s all do our bit to protect our beautiful beaches and each other.
