A local family who lost their baby Monty in 2020 are working with East Devon District Council (EDDC) on a special ribbon display to mark Baby Loss Awareness Week.
It will be the second year running Connaught Gardens, in Sidmouth, will be decorated with ribbons by bereaved families in Sidmouth.
There will be pink and blue ribbons and hearts available as part of the display where anyone can write the name of the babies being remembered during the week, taking place between October 9-15. The ribbon display will remain in place until October 15.
Anyone wanting to also plant a bulb in memory of babies lost, have been invited to do so at Connaught Gardens on Monday, October 13, at 10:30am. EDDC will providing the bulbs and overseeing the planting.
Baby Loss Awareness Week is led by Sands, a charity that works to save babies' lives and support bereaved families.
The week is a time for everyone in the baby loss community and beyond to come together, to remember much-loved and missed babies, and raise awareness of pregnancy and baby loss.
This special week is represented by its blue and pink ribbon logo. This image has been the inspiration to create ribbon displays up and down the UK, in every community, inviting those who have experienced loss to come together and remember their babies.
If you would like to attend and plant a bulb please ensure you wear appropriate footwear and make yourself known to the council team on arrival.
Families have been asked to meet by the noticeboard at the top of steps as you enter the gardens.
