NHS Royal Devon’s Hepatology team has received a prestigious liver services quality accreditation from the Royal College of Physicians—one of just 18 trusts nationally—praised for delivering a nationally leading service for advanced liver disease.
NHS Royal Devon is very proud of their Hepatology team that has recently received a prestigious improving quality in liver services accreditation from the Royal College of Physicians, one of only 18 trusts across the country to be fully accredited.
The team was recognised for having a ‘nationally leading’ service for patients with advanced and end-stage leading liver disease.
Assessors also commented on our programmes of outreach to marginalised communities and efforts to improve hepatoma surveillance.
The ‘excellent team ethos’, outstanding patient feedback and first-rate teaching and research environment were also highlighted.
Ben Hudson, Hepatology Consultant and lead clinician for Gastroenterology and Hepatology said:
“This accreditation demonstrates the high quality of liver services at the Royal Devon, of which we are incredibly proud.
It represents the culmination of a huge amount of work and dedication from the whole team. A big well done to the team for achieving the accreditation and also the difference you are making to our patients every day.”
IQILS accreditation is awarded to liver services which have demonstrated they meet best practice quality standards. It is awarded for five years, subject to successful completion of an annual review.
