Still time to take part in annual budget consultation

Exeter residents are being reminded that there is still time to share their views in the council’s annual budget consultation

The city council is asking residents to consider which services are most important to them and what they think the council should prioritise in the future.

The consultation survey closes on 31 December.

Every year Council agrees a budget which balances the money spent on services with the money it receives from council tax, business rates, government grants and income from services like car parks.

For the next financial year, the council is expecting to agree a balanced budget without having to consider reducing services.

But it still needs to understand how people rate the council’s key priorities - local economy, people, homes, sustainable environment, and a well-run council.

The feedback provided helps councillors make decisions on short-term and longer-term spending plans.

The survey takes only a few minutes to complete. To take part visit  https://engage.exeter.gov.uk/balanced-budget-2026-27
