The South Western Ambulance Service responded to reports of a chemical-related emergency at Eurotech on Salterton Road, Exmouth, around 08:40 this morning.
An ambulance spokesperson confirmed that eight people were treated at the scene, and one individual was transported to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital for further care.
The Devon and Somerset Fire Service reported that the building had to be evacuated as a precaution. After the situation was managed, another person sought medical attention at a local hospital. Exmouth fire station watch manager Chris Gibbs stated that fire crews from Middlemoor in Exeter and Newton Abbot were also deployed.
Mr. Gibbs noted, "One person was taken to the hospital by ambulance, and another person went to the hospital in Exeter on their own."
The fire service has confirmed that the incident is now resolved, and employees have returned to their duties at the business.
