Devon and Cornwall Police are looking for Volunteers to help support the Volunteer Police Cadet (VPC) groups who volunteer within their local communities, attending various events throughout the year and helping with the smooth running of weekly sessions. We have Cadet units at Exeter and Tiverton who meet each Thursday evening.
This is an exciting opportunity to use your personal qualities and skills within your community and learn, alongside our Police Cadets, how Devon and Cornwall Police operate. It is a great chance to help give back to your local community.
As a Volunteer Police Cadet Leader, you will be friendly and approachable and be open to learning new skills and information that can be shared with others. Specific qualifications are not essential, however previous experience of working with young people (13-18yrs old) is advantageous. There is also a requirement to understand and respect diversity and equality and be a confident communicator.
Whilst performing the role of a VPC Leader, you will gain valuable skills, feel part of a team, build a ‘feel good’ factor as a volunteer for the police and there may also be the opportunity for you to gain qualifications and knowledge whilst supporting the leadership of the VPC group.
We would not consider applications where the applicant lives more than 25 miles from the base location for this role.
Please visit the VPC website for further information on the cadets: https://vpc.police.uk/
