There’s still time for people to have their say on two major strategies that will guide the city’s cultural development and future of the city centre in the coming years.
The City Council launched public consultations on 18 May for its draft Cultural Strategy 2026–2031 and City Centre Strategy 2026–2031.
Hundreds of people have already taken part, but there’s still time to add your voice - both consultations close on 29 June.
The Cultural Strategy sets out a vision for culture, creativity, heritage and wellbeing in Exeter. Feedback from the consultation will help shape how culture is supported, developed and delivered across Exeter over the next five years.

The City Centre Strategy outlines a vision for the city centre’s appearance, safety, economy, living and connectivity. It aims to build on local pride, strengthen the city centre’s appeal and ensure a sustainable future for residents, businesses and visitors.

Cllr Lucy Findlay, Lead Councillor for Culture and City Centre, said: “We are currently running consultations on two separate but linked strategies. The Cultural Strategy aims to get everyone involved and feeling part of Exeter’s culture.
“The City Centre strategy aims to build on Exeter’s vibrancy and its safety, for both residents and businesses.
“I would encourage as many people as possible to take part in these consultations, and we look forward to hearing your views.”
The Council is encouraging everyone who lives, works or visits Exeter to take part in the survey on the Engage Exeter website.
Paper copies of both surveys are also available from reception at the Civic Centre, Paris Street.
