In local cricket on Saturday in the Devon premier league Exmouth had an easy victory over bottom of the table Plympton by 10 wickets at the Maer , chasing just 118 runs the home side reached their target without loss . Sidmouth also had a comfortable win by 9 wickets at Tiverton based Heathcoat, while at the county ground 3rd placed Exeter beat visiting Cornwood by 99 runs but Paignton lost to league leaders Bradninch/ Kentisbeare by at Queens park.
In the A division Abbotskerswell went down to a 7 wicket defeat at Plymstock and Torquay/Kingskerswell were beaten by West Devon side Bridestowe by 5 wickets at the Recreation ground.
In the B division Teignmouth/ Shaldon lost by 7 wickets to visiting Budleigh Salterton at Hazeldown, Clyst st George fell to a 6 wicket defeat at Ipplepen, league leaders Cullompton had a comfortable 53 win at Stoke Gabriel's Eastley memorial ground and second placed Barton beat visiting Chudleigh by 132 runs at Cricketfield road.
In division C east Ottery St Mary beat Alphington/ Countess Wear by 2 wickets at the Chronicles but as yet no result from Seaton v Heathcoat second eleven.
Finally in division D east Upottery had a comfortable 6 wicket victory at Whimple while league leaders Bradninch/ Kentisbeare beat visitors Topsham St James by 156 runs at Kensham Park.
