In local cricket on Saturday in the Devon Premier League Exmouth convincingly beat neighbours Sidmouth by 7 wickets at the Maer Ground, Exeter won by 145 runs over visiting Bovey Tracey at the County Ground and Paignton beat visitors Plymstock by 48 runs.
In the A Division Torquay/ Kingskerswell lost at home to North Devon buy 47 runs at the Recreation Ground while Abbotskerswell were beaten by 48 runs at Thorverton.
In the B Division Budleigh Salterton lost by 3 wickets at Stoke Gabriel, Torquay side Barton narrowly best visiting Cullompton by 14 runs at Cricketfield Road, Teignmouth/ Shaldon had a close victory over North Devon side Bideford/Westward Ho by 20 runs but Clyst St George were well beaten at Bovey Tracey Second Eleven by 121 runs.
In Division C East, Alphington/Countess Wear lost by 98 runs to Exmouth Second Eleven at the Chronicles and Ottery St Mary were comprehensively beaten by 5 wickets at the Holt by Budleigh Salterton Seconds and finally in the D Division East Upottery easily beat Clyst Hydon away by 174 runs but Topsham St James went down by at 2 wickets at North Devon Second Eleven.
