In local sport on Saturday our fixtures were once again hit by the the bad weather over the last few days with just three of our football matches and one rugby game surviving.

Hard work by the ground staff enabled Exmouth Towns southern league one south home game at Southern road against Larkhall Athletic to go ahead and the home side took full advantage thrashing the visitors by 5 goals to 0 .After a scoreless first half Town stepped up the pace after the break and with goals from Levi Landricombe (2) ,Ace High (2) and Mike Landricombe they gained their first home league win of the season and secure 3 points in their efforts to avoid relegation.

In the A&S Devon league Budleigh Salterton managed a 1-0 win at Ipplepen Athletic but Beer Albion were beaten at home by league leaders Exeter University 1-0 .

In local rugby Exmouth Cockels were given a home walk over result over Matson but in the only game to produce a result Withycombe were hammered by 40 points to nil at Plymouth side OPMs.
