In local rugby on Saturday in the Counties 2 Devon league Withycombe were well beaten by rivals Exeter Saracens 47-21 at Raleigh Park and in the Devon senior cup unbeaten Exmouth Cockles were somewhat surprisingly knocked out by visiting neighbours Topsham losing in a close game by 29-26 at Imperial road.
