Once again on Saturday local sport was affected by the weather with several games postponed due to frozen pitches.

In rugby Exmouth Cockles home game with Okehampton was cancelled and Sidmouth and Creditons games in the Regional Two league were called off but Teignmouth beat visiting Bridgewater Albion by at Bitton Park.

In Counties One Western West league leaders Cullompton had a runaway victory at bottom club Falmouth by a massive 87 points to 0, Topsham remain second after beating Bude away 31-25 while Tiverton also won away with a 34-32 victory at Plymstock Albion Oaks.

In Counties Two Devon Withycombe found their trip to league leaders Tavistock fruitless and were heavily beaten 76-10 but Exeter Saracens had a narrow victory at North Tawton by 16 points to 13 while Exeter Athletic went down 21-14 at home to Tiverton Quins in Devon East.

In football Exmouth Towns game at Evesham Utd went ahead in foggy conditions and unfortunately their poor run of results continued and they lost 2-0.

In the Peninsula League East just one game survived with Cullompton Rangers going down by 2 goals to 1 at Ivybridge but in the A&S Devon League unbeaten Beer Albion surprisingly lost at home to Exeter University 1-0 but Budleigh Salterton easly beat Fremington 4-0 at Greenway Lane and Topsham Town had a good 2-0 victory at Feniton.

Finally in the Devon and Exeter leagues Dawlish Utd were beaten 3-1 at home by visitors Sandford in the Premier Division while Upottery won 3-2 over Newtown Reserves at Glebe Park in Division One.

In Division 2 Exmouth Spartans had a good 3-0 victory over Clyst Valley Second Eleven at the Commons Ground while Tipton St John beat visiting Tedburn St Mary by 4 goals to 2.

In Division 7 Otterton had a convincing 4-1 victory over Exeter University 8th Eleven at Stantaway.
