Weekend local sport report

Exmouth Town FC are now 5th in Southern League Division One South after losing 1-0 to Poulton Rovers

Once again there was major disruption to our local football and rugby fixtures last weekend due to weather conditions with most games postponed.

Exmouth Town's away encounter with Poulton Rovers was however one that did take place with Town disappointingly losing to a late goal from the home side in a game where both sides missed several chances in poor playing conditions . In the A&S Devon league Ottery St Mary gained a 3-2 victory at North Molton S C while in the Devon and Exeter league Exmouth Spartans were held to a 2 all draw at home to Tedburn St Mary at the Commons ground and Upottery also draw by the same score at Wellington reserve. In division 7 Exmouth Rovers thrashed host Bampton  8-2 and Ex Don's beat Millway Rise seconds also by 8 goals to 2 at the Commons.

In rugby  Withycombe had a 12 points to 7 victory at host South Molton in appalling conditions, but Teignmouth were narrowly beaten 12-7 by Truro at Bitton Park while Tiverton had a single point victory at Cornish side Penryn by 25-24.
