The residents of Teignmouth and its visitors will now find it easier to access cash and banking services with the opening of a temporary banking hub today.
Located at the Post Office on Den Road, this temporary banking hub will operate five days a week until a permanent hub is established. Cash Access UK, which manages banking hubs, has announced that a location for the permanent hub has been identified and will open later this year, though they did not specify the exact location.
The temporary hub, set up in a separate area within the local Post Office, offers a counter service run by the Post Office, allowing customers of all major banks to perform cash transactions during operating hours. The hub will be open from 9am to 5pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and from 9:30am to 5pm on Tuesdays. Additionally, customers can consult with representatives from their own banks for more complex issues in a private space on designated days.
The community banker schedule is as follows:
- Monday: NatWest
- Tuesday: HSBC (coming soon)
- Wednesday: Lloyds (coming soon)
- Thursday: Santander
- Friday: Barclays
Teignmouth was selected for a Banking Hub after LINK, the UK's cash access and ATM network, identified a need for enhanced cash deposit services due to recent bank branch closures in the town.
