The Neighbourhood Support Team have been working alongside our Prevent and Detect Team in the Castle Circus area of Torquay town centre focusing on drug related activity.
They used a range of different tactics including being highly visible as well as working with several officers in plain clothes and utilising CCTV throughout the town to disrupt a range of criminal offences.
Over the last 2 days within the town centre they have:
5 x arrests for drug, theft, violence and public order offences,
4 x community resolutions issued for drug and public order offences,
17 x stop searches of individuals,
1 x search of a home address of a suspect after being arrested,
3 x dispersals issued under the Public Space Protection Order,
9 x pieces of intelligence received,
2 x pieces of evidence seized,
2 x items of property seized,
3 x quantities of drugs seized – including spice and heroin.
As always, if you notice something in your community that doesn't feel right, let them know and they will do the rest.
