The final highway scheme of major infrastructure improvements in south west Exeter has been delivered and will open next week.
The new Chudleigh Road link will open to traffic on Monday (19 January), providing a new signal controlled junction with the A379.
This new road layout replaces the current junction between Chudleigh Road and the A379, completing the switch to the new road alignment. The former route will be permanently closed to motor vehicles.
The project has delivered around 390 metres of new road as well as widening of the existing A379 to support the developments in the area.
This junction is part of the South West Exeter Housing Infrastructure Fund (HIF) programme, coordinated by us and funded by Government, which is unlocking land for around 2,500 new homes.
