Two people are in hospital after they were seriously assaulted in Newton Abbot in the early hours of Monday 4 May.
Police were called at 00:10am to a premises on Highweek Street, following a report of an altercation involving a group of people where two people were assaulted with a bladed weapon.
A man and a woman have sustained serious injuries, which are not deemed to be life-threatening. They have been taken to hospital for treatment.
A 27-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and he remains in custody at this time.
Two scene guards remain in place in the town as the investigation is ongoing, and this will continue into the day.
