Noise Action Week (11–15 May) is shining a spotlight on the impact unwanted noise can have on health, wellbeing, and local communities, while encouraging residents to take practical steps to help reduce noise pollution.
Throughout the week, organisations across the country are raising awareness of key issues including the health effects of excessive noise, aural diversity, and ways to better manage sound in neighbourhoods and shared public spaces.
As part of the campaign, the East Devon District Council (EDDC) Environmental Health Team is inviting residents to attend a series of interactive sessions to learn more about how noise complaints are investigated and what support is available to those affected.
Visitors will have the opportunity to see demonstrations of the specialist noise recording equipment used by the team, gain insight into the complaint investigation process, and receive practical advice on dealing with noise issues in their communities.
The sessions will take place at Blackdown House, Honiton, on Tuesday 12 May from 10:00am to 1:00pm and Thursday 14 May from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
Residents are encouraged to join the conversation, explore helpful resources, and discover how small changes can make a big difference in creating quieter, healthier shared spaces.
