As part of an annual tradition, the city of Exeter will be marking Armed Forces Day with a large number of service military, associations and cadets marching through the city.
The parade will take place on Saturday 20 June with the city of Exeter as usual celebrating the occasion a week earlier than the national event.
The proceedings will commence from 11am with the forces stepping off from Sidwell Street before making their way to the High Street.
There will be a traditional salute at Guildhall and then onto the Cathedral where the parade will form up for a quick inspection by the Lord Mayor and Inspecting Party.
Musical entertainment will be starting from approximately 11:30am, with the entire event expected to finish at around 2pm.
Those attending can also visit a ‘Military Village’ on the Cathedral Green, which will include recruiting stalls from some of the organisations and associations involved.
The Parade will be led by the Barnstaple Youth Band followed by a performance from The Salamanca Band of the Rifles on the Cathedral Green.
The Exeter Brewery, who have been involved with the event for over a decade, will be donating beverages to those taking part in the Parade.
Armed Forces celebrations take place annually across the country at the end of June, with a week of celebrations allowing the public to show their support and appreciation for the Armed Forces community.
