Five closure orders in Torquay have been extended for problem properties in the town after police acted on community concerns.
Following partnership working with colleagues in Trading Standards South West and Torbay Council we were successful in obtaining closure orders in July this year.
Now three commercial premises in Torquay town centre and two residential addresses in Torquay have had their closure orders extended for another three months into January 2027.
Torquay Sector Inspector Rob Harvey explained: “Torquay Neighbourhood Team are grateful for the support we received from the public and our Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Legal Advisor in obtaining and extending these orders.
“We will continue to use legislation to obtain closure orders to support the town centre businesses and visitors as well as protecting our residential communities from ASB.”
The three shops are subject to full closure orders following continuing concerns at the premises around supplying and storing counterfeit goods under Operation Marshal. They have been named as Cheeto Mini Market in Tor Hill Road, Milano Market in Union Street and International Mini Market, also in Union Street.
The two residential addresses in Torquay have had their partial closures extended for another three months, protecting those that are rightfully residing in these locations as well as combating associated anti-social behaviour (ASB).

Officers from the Torquay Neighbourhood team will be at St Matthias' Church, Babbacombe Road in Torquay on Wednesday 2 December between midday and 2pm to meet residents face to face and listen to any community issues we can help with. We look forward to seeing you there.
