People are being told not to be concerned about the appearance of white webbing in trees in an Exeter park, caused by an infestation of caterpillars.
The silken webbing in Belle Isle Park has been created by the small ermine moth caterpillars, which feed on the leaves of the trees.
The webbing and the caterpillars are harmless and pose no risk to the public.
Whilst visually striking, most healthy trees typically recover from the infestation and the caterpillars are controlled naturally, many eaten by predators such as birds.
