Exeter celebrates 70 years of links with the French city of Rennes later this month.
A delegation from the Exeter Twinning Circle will be visiting the city in Brittany for a formal reception at the Rennes Town Hall on Wednesday 27 May.
The City Council will be sending a letter of congratulations and civic gifts via the Twinning Circle.
The event will also be attended by the Deputy UK Ambassador to France, Andrew Dalgleish.
Other events are being planned for the rest of the year and will be announced in due course.
Exeter is twinned with three cities: Rennes in France; Bad Homburg in Germany; and Terracina in Italy. Exeter City Council supports the Twinning Circle and helps foster relations between the four cities.
As well as organising visits to and from Exeter’s twin cities, the Twinning Circle promotes and encourages cultural contacts and co-operation for the benefit of the people of its twinned cities.
