Westpoint, Exeter — Organisers of the Devon County Show were delighted to welcome Her Royal Highness Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, to the 2026 Devon County Show today, Thursday 21 May.
The Duchess spent time meeting farmers, exhibitors, volunteers and members of the rural community during her visit to one of the country’s leading agricultural events. Her Royal Highness also met long-standing supporters of the Show and representatives from organisations connected to farming, food production and countryside life across the South West.
The Duchess of Edinburgh has long supported British agriculture and rural organisations through her work with agricultural societies and countryside charities. Her visit to the Devon County Show highlighted the continued importance of farming, sustainability and rural enterprise within Devon and across the wider region.
Show organisers said:
“It was a tremendous honour to welcome Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Edinburgh to this year’s Devon County Show. Her visit recognised the dedication and resilience of our farming and rural communities and was greatly appreciated by exhibitors, volunteers and visitors alike.”
