Students at Thomas Hall School in Exeter, part of Reach South Academy Trust, marked the end of the first half of term with a non-uniform day that gave something back to the local community.
The day was organised as a way to thank students for their hard work throughout the term. Rather than donating money to take part, students were invited to bring in food donations for the local food bank.
The collection gave students a chance to support people in their community while celebrating the end of a busy start to the academic year.
The initiative reflected Thomas Hall School’s values of Belong, Inspire, Grow, bringing students together around a shared act of kindness and encouraging them to think about how they can make a difference to others.
Charlotte Webster, Head of School at Thomas Hall School, said:
“We wanted to thank our students for all their hard work this term, and it was lovely to see them respond so generously. By bringing in food donations instead of money, they were able to help support people in our local community. It’s a simple idea, but one that reflects the kind of school community we want to be, where everyone feels they belong and has the opportunity to make a positive difference.”
