Exeter residents are being reminded to have their say on two major strategies that will guide the city’s cultural development and future of the city centre in the coming years.
The City Council launched public consultations on 18 May for its draft Cultural Strategy 2026–2031 and City Centre Strategy 2026–2031.
The Cultural Strategy sets out a vision for culture, creativity, heritage and wellbeing in Exeter. Feedback from the consultation will help shape how culture is supported, developed and delivered across Exeter over the next five years.

The City Centre Strategy outlines a vision for the city centre’s appearance, safety, economy, living and connectivity. It aims to build on local pride, strengthen the city centre’s appeal and ensure a sustainable future for residents, businesses and visitors.

Council Leader Phil Bialyk said: “Consulting with our residents is a key priority and helps shape the decisions we make as a Council.
“Culture and the city centre are both hugely important to Exeter. We want to ensure we remains a city where everyone can access and enjoy a thriving cultural scene and a vibrant city centre.
“I would urge everyone to take part in these important consultations and make sure their voice is heard.”
The Council is encouraging everyone who lives, works or visits Exeter to take part in the survey on the Engage Exeter website. Consultations close on 29 June.
Paper copies of both surveys are also available from reception at the Civic Centre, Paris Street.
